On May 7th, 2006, Medéa Gallery hosted an awareness event for the “Running Dry” program, bringing together concerned citizens, philanthropists and experts in the field of water.

On Sunday, May 7, San Pedro's Warner Grand Theater showed "Running Dry". It's a documentary about the global water crisis by San Pedro resident Jim Thebaut and The Chronicles Group, a non profit organization. It was being presented to conclude the Third Annual LA Harbor International Film Festival (LAHIFF).

Medea Gallery hosted a fundraiser / awareness event immediately following the screening. It was an evening filled with entertainment, music, food, fascinating people and learning.

The event was made possible due to support from Ray Masters, Curtis Greene, Gia Chikvaidze, Dimitri Lazaroff, Bank Lofts, Cathy Iseri, Ellen Watanabe, Dean Triolo, Mike Okoniewski, Muriel Olguin, Joe DiRocco, Whale and Ale, La Conga, San Pedro Brewing Company, A-Delta Realty, Senfuku, Marcellos, Beach City Grill, Trani's, Absolut and Blue Cow Water. We thank these folks and the wonderful volunteers from Golden State Water, Heal The Bay, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, Surfrider Foundation, Water For People and Long Beach Aquarium of The Pacific for their generous support of such a worthy cause.

Attendees included concerned philanthropists and business leaders including former British MP and National President of the World Affairs Councils of America Sir Eldon Griffiths, art director William Cruse (Hunt For Red October, The Green Mile), Floyd Wicks, former President of American States Water Company, Dr. JoEllen Allen, director of public affairs for Southern California Edison, Fred Ameri, Chairman of World Affairs Council of Orange County and Vice chairman of California Regional Water Quality Control Board's Santa Ana region - and Alan Walti, Chairman of The South Bay Division of The Surfrider Foundation.
